I’m Tori Dawn Selden, part-time photographer, wife, full time mama of 2 red-headed smiley boys. Lover of homemade sourdough, a good cheese board, iced coffee, fresh cut flowers, and Birkenstocks. It’s the simple things in life ;) I started photography and launched my business in 2020 from the ground up. Literally I had zero photography experience (other than taking pictures on an iPhone). I was a nanny and just had my first baby when a talented photographer friend of mine brought up the fact that she thought I might make a good photographer. I knew I wanted to transition out of nannying and be able to still make an income for my family. She helped me figure out what gear to start out with, gave me some editing tips, and later brought me along on a couple weddings to help me break into the wedding photography world. I jumped in headfirst, got my first camera, taught myself how to shoot in manual and started taking photos of friends to build my portfolio. I shot 3 free sessions and then started charging.

I booked 2 weddings in 2020 and a bunch of family, maternity, and couples sessions. I raised my prices about every 6-9 months, and continued to consistently book right from the start. I replaced my income from nannying in my first full year doing business. I never expected to grow so fast but I put in the hard work upfront to become the best photographer I could be, and constantly kept learning and challenging myself. And with continued growth and experience my income and client base grew too. I wasn’t perfect and there are things I would probably do different if I could do it all again, but my friend really helped me set myself up for success and I’d love to do the same for you! I’m so passionate about helping others grow and better their business! or if you wanna do what I did, I’d love to help you start from scratch. I especially have a passion for helping mama’s get to be at home with their babies and have a job that is creative and fun and flexiable.
